Dark Defender Dexter

Dexter Morgan

Dexter is a Showtime series original based off of the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay. This show is about Dexter, a serial killer who works for the Miami Metro Police Department as a blood pattern analyst. He kills felons who are able to evade the justice system. In doing so, he believes he is preventing murder and future crimes. So in essence he is a superhero.

I remember reading an IGN article a while ago called The State of TV. It basically gave you a quick glance at whether certain TV shows were living up to their hype or not. One of the shows they happened to check out was Dexter. After reading all the raving reviews on it, I felt I needed to be in on the action as well.

I would have never guessed that I would be absorbed by a TV show about cops in Miami. The beauty of Dexter is it takes you in the mind of a serial killer and makes you understand the reasons for his actions. The whole idea that Harry, his foster father, saw the demon inside of Dexter and helped him focus it was really intriguing. Throughout the series it revisits Dexter's origins and I believe that is what really makes this show. The combination of learning about his origins and getting into his mind will make you feel sorry for the guy. What I really love about the show is that it takes everything that is great storytelling, from the pace to character development and tightly packages it with a great premise.

Cool Stuff!

The first game out of EAT SLEEP PLAY is going to be for Twisted Metal fans. How fitting, my possible last PS2 game I'm going to purchase was also the first Playstation game I purchased back in the day.

Twisted Metal 2 was everything a car combat game should be. It was a fast paced action game that did not take itself too seriously. The level design, especially Paris couldn't have been better. The fact that you can manipulate the levels (destroy the Eiffel tower) to create new possibilities was something I had never experienced in a game before. Twisted Metal provided that experience for me.

Systems back online!

Finally fixed my computer after putting it off for over a year. Hopefully this means more posts, more often...hopefully.
