The Birth of Heroes

So I have recently sat down to check out Heroes because of all the good things I have been hearing. The first few episodes were quality but still wasn't all the great. It was after the fourth episode I was hooked.

SPOILERS AHEAD

Hiro comes from the future, looking badass with his sword, to warn Peter. He tells him "Save the cheerleader, save the world." That scene was all I needed. The show does a good job of developing the characters and making their struggle seem believable. Like all that is possible. One thing that has bothered me is Niki/Jessica. She seems to be out of the loop of it all. She doesn't really seem to fit the characteristics of the others. Hiro can bend time, Peter can absorb powers, Nathan can fly, Matt can hear thoughts and so on. But Niki has an alter ego. I sure hope there is more to the Niki character. I was also somewhat shocked to find out her son, Micah, has abilities as well. He seems to be totally capable of handling his powers without any trouble. Micah isn't afraid of his powers. Granted we have only seen him use his powers once (telephone). To be quite honest I was not interested in the Micah character at all. In fact I thought he was quite annoying but the fact that he has powers changed everything.

SPOILERS END

I can't wait for the series to continue where it left off. Meanwhile I will be busy visiting Hiro's blog and the 9th Wonders forum. If you have seen the show don't forget to check out the online comics.

Oh and checkout Herocast.
